Press the ‘ Windows + W’ key on the keyboard. Type troubleshooter in the search box and then press enter. Click hardware and sound and run the hardware and device troubleshooter. Method 2: Update the PNY Card Reader Driver: Follow these steps to update the driver. Press Windows key + X key and click on Device manager. Search for PNY Card Reader Driver and expand it. Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software. Method 3: Uninstall and Reinstall in Windows 7 compatibility mode: Step 1: Uninstall the PNY Card Reader driver from Device Manager. Follow the steps to uninstall the PNY Card Reader. Press Windows Key + X and then click Device Manger. Search for PNY Card Reader driver and expand it. Right click on the driver and select Uninstall. Follow the prompt and restart the computer. Step 2: Install the driver in Windows 7 compatibility mode: Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode. Right click the driver installation file and select Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab. Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode for: box. Tap or click the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click OK. Try installing the driver and check. Here I would also suggest you to Check with the card reader manufacturer’s website if it is a known issue with the product, as you say you were having some issue in windows 7 as well. Hope it helps. There were no driver issues in device manger also there are no drivers for this device that I could find or windows just say best driver is already in use its microsofts driver, it just plugs in the usb, I used my camera to format the sdhc now its working fine:), strange I had to get my camera to format it befor windows 8 would read disk correctly, thanks for your reply. Just got to some how get my 8gb sony pro duo mark 2 to format correctly don't have no devices to format it with other than the pny usb 2.0 card reader that still says its 1 gig or windows 8 says its 1gig?
